The High Court decided in the appeal t of the Union Steamship Company ) against the assessment of war-time i profits bytlie Federal Taxation Commiss sioncr that ’the company was liable to tax under the War-time Profits Tax Act and decided that the company was not entitled to rely upon any objection other than the objection that the assessment was excessive. The Court also decided that the assessment made by the Commissioner was not excessive, and remitted the matter to the Supreme Court.
