WAIKATO PRESBYTERY

BUSINESS MEETING. Tne Presbytery met at St. Andrew’s Church yesterday. Rev. R. Mackie presided as Moderator pro tern, and there were ten other ministers present, four skiers and five home missionaries. It was agreed that in future the Presbytery meet every month, and that the Moderator be appointed for a of six months instead of for a year as formerly.

Rev. R. W. Jackson tendered .his resignation of the pastorate of Matamata, requesting that it might take effect from January 31, 1921.—1 t was resolved that the resignation lie on the table until next meeting, a commission being appointed to visit the parish, and that the congregation he cited to appear in their own jtfieres'ts.

A call -yvas received from the congregation of Te Kuiti in favour of Rev. 11. R. Fell, M.A., of Howick, the call being signed by 02 members and 25 adherents. Rev. F. A. Thompson and Mr (inlanders, who appeared in support, stated that the congregation was very hearty and unanimous in this matter.—lt was agreed to sustain the call and forward it to the Presbytery of Auckland, Revs I. Jolly, 51. A., and G. Budd being requested to support Hie same before that Gnurt.—it was provisionally arranged (hat the induction take place at Te Kuiti on December 21. and that Revs. R. Mackie, K. Bishop and P. A. Thompson he a commission or Presbytery for that purpose.

It was unanimously agreed to bring under the notice of the -congregations the able treatise on Christian baptism by Rev. Jolly, M.A., recently published by the Committee of the General Assembly.

A well signer! petition was received from the office-bearers and members of the Kihikihi Home Mission Station requesting that Mi’ W. Brabyn, who lias done very acceptable work in that district for over a year, might lie ordained as a missionary in full status. It was unanimously agreed that the Home Mission Committee be recommended to grant the request. Rev. R. Mackic'was elected Moderator of the Presbytery for the current six months.
