OPENING OF CONGRESS
OVATION TO MR HARDING AN APPEAL FOR CO-OPERATION. NO PARTY ENDS TO BE SERVED. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received December 7, 8.40 p.m. WASHINGTON, December 6. The last session of the 66th Congress opened with an ovation to Mr Harding, the President-Elect, who took his Senatorial seat and spoke as a Member of that body. He said he wished to have the co-operation of Congress, but pointed out that three months' democratic lule remained. He hoped that the Senate and House would help to make it fruitful, and unanimously recognised that there are no party ends to serve.
