PIAKO COUNTY COUNCIL
SPECIAL MEETING. A. special meeting of the Piako County Council took place at Te Aroha yesterday. Mr. F. W. Walters presided, and there were also present Crs J. Orr, F. W. Howard, W McLean, O. Glynn, J. Bell, W. A. Clark; also Messrs N. J. Ray (clerk) and W. J. Gibbs (engineer). The solicitor, Mr P. Gilchrist, was present, and explained the regulations governing traffic. The by-laws were discussed at considerable length, and minor alterations made in them.
The metal supply was also discussed at some length.
An offer of a crushing plant was received from a contractor.—The offer could nol be entertained, as Councillors, considered that it would not be wise to acquire an eight-year-old plant. The Councillors afterwards inspected the County's quarry at Waiorongomai.
