GERMAN INDUSTRIES
SHOW RAPID REVIVAL. DESPITE MANY DISABILITIES. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received October 11, 8 p.m. LONDON, October I-i. The Daily Chronicle's Berlin correspondent states that German industries are rapidly reviving, despite the heavy taxation, -extensive and costly repairs and renewals to plant. An examination of 169 companies' balance-sheets, published in September, dealing with the iron, steel, coal, textile, breweries, paper-making, glass and porcelain industries shows that 78 paid increased dividends compared with 1918-19, 59 declared similar dividends. 13 decreased, and 19 paid no dividends.
