AN OPTIMISTIC OUTLOOK

GENEROUS RESPONSE BY BUSINESS PrtCN AND FARMERS. THE WAIKATO WINTER SHOW. ENTRIES CLOSE MAY 20Lh. Thorn is a buoyant fooling regarding tho Waikato Winter Show of 1920, notwithstanding thn serious diflioullios and financial hiss experienced by the Association through llio complete destruction by lire of one of its exhibition halls. Tho building is lining replaced with a much more suitable structure, and will bo unite ready for the Show. Everybody connected with the Waikato Winter Show seems to feel that things are corning its way more than ever this year. The good work of the past few years ’tells more and more, and given good weather, the committee confidently expect the exhibition of 1920 to be the best all-round Show ever given in the Dominion. As usual, every available inch of space will he taken up with machinery and produce. The arrangements will be decid’dly improved, (lie entertainment section of the ■Show will be very much belter than previous years, and the special prizes will be a great feature. There arc new cups in the dairy section and special prizes in Ibc root section which are particularly attractive. Never has there been such a generous response to the request for subscriptions towards the prize funds. The Association’s request. to Hamilton and Auckland merchants to donate prizes received a most generous response. The donation committee. consisting of Messrs .t. E. Tidd (president). W. E. Clark (vice-presi-dent) and Thco. Mitchell (vice-presi-dent) _ who take such a hearty interest in the’ success of the Show themselves, could with good grace ask others to help, and they met with a generous and hearty reception. Here is a list they gathered up without being able to see everybody. The committee would like to point out that it was quite impossible to see everyone, and they will be glad to acknowledge oilier donations. Challenge Cups. Sllkeborp Cup,.
