N.Z. THAW FOR AUSTRALIA. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. The New Zealand Union has accepted July 24th, hist and August 2nd for matches in Sydney, with a country fixture in the first week. The following have been appointed selectors: — Messrs. Nicholson (Auckland), Malone (Taranaki), Griffiths (Wellington).Wilson (Canterbury), Harris (Otago). The Sydney secretary wrote that the -English Union had cabled that it was very anxious that no action should be taken towards playing the amended rules at present, as it desires a universal code, and was awaiting a reply from South Africa. The North and South Island'match was (ixed for June ‘ifilh, Ihc same selectors being appointed.
