mumuirm. i mu ADDRESSES BY CANDIDATES. The meeting- held in the Church of Christ, Claudclands, by the px-Mayor (Mr P. H. Walts) and cx-Councillors— Messrs J. McKinnon, S. Tombs, H. E. Tristram, W K Burrow and 'J' F, Jolly—was very well attended. Mr W. G. Fabling occupied the chair. The candidates spoke on the same lines as on tbc previous night, and gave a good many figures dealing with the borough management. A sample of the new road metal was on exhibition. The candidates were accorded a vote of thanks and confidence, and a vote of thanks to tbc chairman concluded the meeting. In another column Messrs T. R. Fow, J. E. Tidd, W. F. Mason and, F A. Snell publish a reply to (lie manifesto issued 1 by the ex-Mayor and Councillors and ask for the support of electors. Mr T Johnson announces his platform in our advertising columns.
