MORRINSVILLE. Chamber of Commerce. The secretary of the Morriusvillc Chamber of Commerce has received a letter from the member tor the district, forwarding a communication from the Postmaster-General that provision has been made lor the extension of the Morrinsville-lahuna ’phoue circuit to Patetonga as soon as Lie exchange al Patetonga is established. The work is being held up by the shortage of material. Tne chamber of Commerce has been working in this direction lor some considerable time. At present messages have to go a very roundabout route, and an illustration of the length of Hine was afforded recently when a Patetonga resident put m a telegram for medicine at 10.21 at Patetonga, and it was received at 4.7 at Martinsville. A Youthful Traveller. A three-year-old boy got on board tile train at Hamilton last week, and when he arrived, at Morrinsville thought he liked the look of the place, and got off the train. The siatiou authorities handed him over to the police, who got into communication with Hie parents at Hamilton, and relieved their anxiety. General. The Croquet Club opened the dancing season on Wednesday night with a most successful dance. The proceeds go to Hie new lawn fund. The death occurred at the Waikato Hospital on Thursday, of Mrs Krogh, wife of Mr A. Krogh, of Morrinsville. Tile deceased had resided here for some years. She leaves a husband and four young children to mourn their loss. On Thursday the friends of Mr E. Pretty, w'ho is leaving here to go to Te Awamutu, and Mr F. Hawkins, w’ho is leaving for England, at a social gathering presented each gentleman with a case of pipes and a tobacco pouch. A sale of produce in aid of the school improvement fund was held, and proved very successful, over £44 being raised. The increasing value of properties was shown last week when a house and half an acre of land, which, six months ago, was sold for £7OO, has now' changed hands at £1250.
