SALE OF ADMIRALTY HAMMOCKS A PPLICATIONS, closing 10th May, 1920, are invited by the New Zealand Defence Department for the purchase of several thousand canvas, tarpaulin and jute hammocks, ex Im. perial troopships, at prices ranging from 3s 6d to 10s each, packing and carriage extra. They are suitable for use either as hammocks, being complete with clews and lashings, or could be readily and cheaply converted into horse, cow, rick or waggtm covers, being of an average size of 4ft. x sft- 3in. ,Orders "'ill be received for single hammocks or larger quantities. For general recreation uses, grades C and E are most suitable —ready for use—posted free to any address, 12s and 9s 6d each, respectively. Whilst all hammocks under offer appear in good average condition, no guarantee whatever as to condition can be given The Deptrtment reserves the right to decline any application, wholly or in part, and orders from bona-fide users wil: receive preference. Remittance must accompany all applications, and must include postage, etc., as per circular—money order or postal notes for preference (cross them and keep note of numbers). If cheques are sent, exchange must be added and they should be crossed to Public Account and marked “NOT NEGOTIABLE.” Samples of each grade may be viewed at ‘K’ Shed, Wellington, only, but circular containing full particulars of grades, prices, also terms and conditions of sale may be obtained from Defence Office at Hamilton or Auckland, or from the Officer-in-Charge, Transport Expenses, Defence Department, Bethune’s Buildings, Wellington, to whom all applications for hammocks are to be addressed. TAUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the Matamata County Council, at a Special Meeting held at Tirau on the Ninth day of April, 1920, passed a Resolution to the following intent and effect, and such Resolution shall be submitted for confirmation at an Ordinary Meeting of the said Council, to be held on FRIDAY, the Fourteenth day of -May, 1920, at eleven o’clock in the forenoon, in the Council Chambers at Tirau. The object and purport of the said Resolution are to alter the representation in the Council so that there will be nine Ridings in place of five Ridings, bounded as appears in the Schedule of the said Resolution, and the number of members shall be one for each Riding. A full copy of the said Resolution is deposited at the County Offices, Duke Street, Cambridge, and is open to the inspection of the Public during office, hours until the Thirteenth day of May, 1920.
