INDICTING THE NATIONALISTS. - COUNTRY’S WORST ENEMY. SACRIFICING THE SULTAN. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) (Received April 13, 9. to p.m.) LONDON. April 12. Copstantinople reports that the new Sheikh ul Islam has issued a fetwa Jndicting the Nationalists for raising rebel levies, and oppressing, robbing and murdering the Sultan’s subjects, thereby causing Constantinople to he cut off from Hie Ottoman Empire. The fetwa calls upon all Moslems Io rally to the Sultan’s standard, and places the Nationalists under the interdict of the faith. Another fetwa banning Bolshevism is expected to be issued in a few days. Danad Ferid Pasha, the Grand Vizier, has issued a communique, bluntly asserting that the Turkish people's worst enemies are those who, under the mask of Nationalism, would sacrifice the country to their personal ambitions. The Daily Telegraph’s correspondent states that these pronouncements, while causing civil war in Turkey will give to the Entente a new ally.
