AUCKLAND’S GAS SUPPLY
A PRECARIOUS OUTLOOK. PRESSURE TO BE REDUCED. (By Telegraph.—-Press Association.) AUCKLAND. Tuesday. Although supplies of coal at the mines have improved, the lack of shipping has resulted in reducing stocks at the Gas Com] iny’s works to an extent which threatens the actual cutting off of the gas supply. There is barely sufficient coal in store to keep the v\orks running Monday next, and the company’s engineer and manager have advis* <1 the directors that it will be expedient to reduce the pressure after 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday next in order to economise in the consumption of gas.
