Here is a recipe successfully used for many years in succession :—Put the fruit in jars, fill with cold water, and cook- if in the oven, start with it cool, gradually increase the heat until water starts spilling over, when screw lids tightly and put jars away. Or put jars in a pan on the fire, starting with cold water, place piece flannel under jars to prevent cracking; as soo« as juice comes out, it means that_ air is expelled from jar, screw down tightly; fruit will keep if no air in jar.;•„_.« Order at once from T.
