MATTER OF NATIONAL IMPORTANCE CONSIDERATION BY CABINET. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received January 13, 9.20 p.m. LONDON, Jan. 10. Sir Eric Geddes, replying to Mr Thomas in connection with the railwaymen’s rejection of the Government s offer, points out that as Cabinet laid down the proposals in the offer which contained issues of national importance affecting every section of the community, it will be necessary to bring the whole matter before his colleagues. Sir Eric Geddes is to meet the men s leaders on Monday.
