J. CLABBY v. TRACEY. It is true that when a boxing contest worthy of the name is held, interest in it is excited all over the conntry. This is but natural, for, after all, the man who wears the crown in the art of using Nature’s weapons as a means •of defence aad attack is held to stand out beyond all others. Jimmy Clabby is such a one, and bas to his credit the world’s welter-weight championship, and bv defeating Geo. Chip was acclaimed middle-weight champion of the world. The groat international contest to take place in the Theatre Royal on Race Night (February 7th) between J. Clabby and .1. Tracey will without doubt prove to be the finest contest ever witnessed in the Dominion. At the Hastings contest ringside reserved seats were unprocurable at double figures, and enquiries have already been made from that district for seats for the coming contest, alsj from other parts of the North Island. Waikato people must congratulate themselves on being given the opportunity of witnessing the greatest evening’s* sport ever provided by any Association in the Dominion. The purse for the Clabby v. Tracey contest is £4OO, which is' the biggest purse offered in the Dominion. The admission prices range from 5s to £3 3s for ringside seats. Members are requested to notify Mr W. Jordan or hon. secretary on or before the 20th inst. if they wish to reserve seats.
