WAERENGA FATALITY
INQUEST AT HAMILTON
ACCIDENTAL DEATH
An inquest was held at Hamilton to day by the Acting Coroner (Mr W. If. Mason) and a jury of four, into the circumstances of the death of Samuel Hannah, aged 53, farmer, of Waerenga, who was found unconscious on the road at Waercnga on Monday and taken to the Waikato Hospital, u'herc he died the same night. Medical evidence was given by Dr. G. W. Gower, medical superintendent of the Hospital, to the effect that Hannah was admitted to the institution at about 3 o’clock in an unconscious state. There were signs of a small bruise over the right temple, and tree , bleeding from th e right ear into the right eve and throat. There were no other signs of injury ou any part of the body. He did not recover consciousness, and died at 7.30 p.m. on the same day. The injuries were consistent with the patient having been thrown from a horse on to the road. He was bleeding from one ear. Near by was a horse, with one of the stirrup leathers thrown over the saddle, while the animal was bleeding at the nose and seemed stiff m one knee. There had been a recent shower of ram, and the indications pointed to the horse having fallen and thrown its A verdict of “Accidental death ’ "as returned.
