The winners of the first round between section winners in the Doubles Championship were: Sextoji (Newtown), Hayward (Akaroa), Davidson (Ponsonby), Benzie (Canterbury), Hemingway (Victoria), Sole (New Plymouth), Hutchinson (North East Valley), Pelty (New Plymouth), Sharp (Stratford), Wilson (Kiatoa), Fountain (Wellington), and SpiUer (Sydenham). Byes: MacPherson (Stratford), H. Nash (Palmerston North), White (St. Kilda), and Fookes (Carlton). REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL. ALTERATION IN THE RULES. CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. At a meeting of the Dominion Bowling Council on Saturday night, an important alteration was made in the method of representation on the Council, which- it is hoped will give satisfaction to the smaller clubs, who are keen on being more fully represented on the Council.
