THE WEATHER.
The following " barometer and thermometer readings, taken at 9 a.m. daily, and weather indications, are kindly supplied by Mr James Bremner: Thermometer. Alax. Min. Friday 68 54 Saturday 75 58 Barometer. Saturday 36.10 Monday 29-75 During Saturday the weather was fair, with high northerly winds. On Sunday evening rain fell and continued showery during the night. The barometer has fallen since Saturday and now registers 29.75 inches. This is probably a secondary depression, and a rising barometer may be expected soon. The indications are for partly fair weather, with occasional light rain showers, winds backing to a southerly direction, end becoming brisk, with settled weather following. ■The Weather Bureau wires: The indications are for westerly winds, strong to gale, and backing by west to south. The weather will probably prove cold and showery. The barometer has a rising tendency.
