WELLINGTON v. CANTERBURY. (It,. Telegraph.—Press Association.) •' ‘WELLINGTON, Saturday. The weather conditions were ideal when the Wellington-Canterbury cricket match was resumed yesterday. Despite the fact that the wicket favoured the batsmen Wellington, at the outset of the first innings, made a poor showing. The first wicket fell for Lb the fourth for 37. and the sixth for At. The tail, however, wagged effectively, Condliffc making a long stand for oruns, while McGirr and Middleton baited freely, securing 68 and 41 reHutchings carried his bat out for 23, and the innings closed t--262, or 23 short of Canterbury’s score. O-nierbury wont in to bat at o’clock, and when slumps were drawn at six o’clock they had lost two wickets for 160.
