GERMANY’S NEW MOTTO. Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn. Received Jan. 8, 5.5 p.m. LONDON, Jan. C. The New Year messages addressed to the German troops contrast strikingly with the unveiled bitterness of reactionary naval officers. The president of the National Soldiers’ League advises the members not to harbour thoughts of revenge, but to concentrate on the working out of democratic institutions. Dr. Helfferich says: “Our motto must he work, hope, fight.”
