NAVAL PROTECTION

It is authoritatively stated that when Lord Jcllicoe returns to England m will recommend a large British fleet lor Indian and Pacific waters, consisting o eight battleships of the latest type, eight modern battle cruisers, 10 light cruisers, 40 destroyers, and 40 submarines. The expense of construction and maintenance of this fleet would be borne, partly by the British Dominions and the acceptance of the plan would be at their discretion.
