THE PRINCE OF WALES
A UNIQUE PROPOSITION. FOE HIS AUSTRALASIAN TOUE. (United Service.) "*• * Received January 7, 9 a.m. LONDON, January 6. While no precedent exists for the temporary appointment of visiting royalty as Governor-General, the Colonial Office views sympathetically the suggestion that the Prince of Wales should act for a short period in Australia. If this could be arranged with the King’s and the Government’s approval it is admitted that it would afford a unique opportunity to pay a graceful compliment to Australia, but It is pointed out that New Zealand is jointly concerned in the visit.
