.big meeting of delegates. OPEN MARKET DEMANDED. NATIONAL CONFERENCE CALLED (By Telegraph.—Special to Times.f AUCKLAND, Thursday. A meeting of representatives of dairy companies in the Auckland pi. o- . vince was held at Auckland yesterday, discuss the question of output. Mr Buchanan, chairman of the South Auckland Dairy Association, presided, and about 40 delegates attended. After a thorough discussion of the subject, the following resolutions were • passed-“ That this meeting of representative producers affirms the principle of a free market for dairy produce and insists upon same at the expiration of the present deal, on July *l, 1920.” “That nine butter and nine cheese delegates be ajjpointed to attend the meeting to be b)pl at Empire Hotel, Wellington, oii January 14, at 9.30 a.m." - “That the representation be for butter, three from Waikatoi, two from Thames, two from the North, one from Bay of Plenty and one from the King Country. That the ' representation for ■ cheese be four from Waikato, three from Thames, one from the North and one from the Bay of Jlenty." Butter: Waikato, Messrs Goodfellow, Fulton and Blackett; Thames, Messrs Buchanan and Walters; Bay of ’Plenty, Mr Hogg; King Country, Mr Stanton. Cheese: Waikato, Messrs W. Goodfellow, E. Allen, Brown and Blackett; Thames, Messrs Buchanan, Walters and White; Bay of Plenty, Mr Reid. “That it be a direction to the delegates that the basis of quoting be 'takep on the manufactured tonnage.’ “That it be an instruction to delegates to ask for a free market up to July, 1920, and not to discuss selling without further reference to this body.”
