Gregory Weinstein, an- associate of Maantens, the Soviet Ambassador, has been arrested on a deportation warrant. Weinstein is the leader of the Russian Communists in the United States. The machine will weigh 30,000 kilogrammes, and will be equipped with six motors capable of attaining a speed of 120 kilometres. The steamer Roggeveen, which arrived recently from New Caledonia, has been quarantined owing to an outbreak ol influenza aboard. A cable from Noumea states that one of the steamer's paitients landed there has developed smallpox, and others influenza. Several of the latter have died. The victims were Coolies.
