A very enjoyable evening: was spent at Mr Ward’s residence on New Year’s eve, it being the occasion of a farewell to the Ward family who, though they have not been in (tie district long, have made many friends, who will be verysorry to lose them. The evening tooK the form of a surprise party, and music and cards were indulged in. After a dainty supper, Mr Alker spoke and wished Air and Mrs Ward and family every success in their new home and a Happy and Prosperous New Year. Mr Ward responded in a pleasing manner. After singing “He’s a ,lolly flood Fellow,” the parly left for home.
