ATHLETICS.

TERMS CHAMPIONSHIPS DELAYED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Monday. The completion of the New Zealand tennis championship tournament is being considerably hampered by the weather, which has not only delayed the play, but has reduced the standard much below championship form. If the weather holds up all the games may be completed to-day, but of this there :s little prospect. The New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association has accepted the .proposal of the Australian Association that the English visitors, Messrs Beamish and Low, should come to this country and play a series of matches here. They will arrive here early in March and wdl leave about the middle of the month, playing matches in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. It will not be possible for them to visit any other centres. LATER. There was heavy weather this morning, and the tennis tournament has been postponed till to-morrow morning. The weather appears to be clearing.
