Mr Ji.A. Hamill, of Te Kuiti, was a visitor to Hamilton yesterday.
Senior-Sergeant J. G. Cassells, formerly of Hamilton, has been promoted to be Sub-Inspector, and transferred from Whangarei to Gisborne. Captain and Mrs Stirling, accompanied by a party of nine friends, from Auckland, spent several hours in Hamilton .to-day, on their way through to Rotorua by motor. Dr. Truby King, arrived in Wellington by the Moeraki from Sydney on Sunday. He has been engaged in the United Kingdom for some time on vrurji connected with child welfare.
Mr Dempster, of Prankton, of the Government Department, who has been to America and Europe in connection with the dairying business, returned to Wellington by the Tofua. Mr James Parr, C.M.G., M.P., was in Hamilton this morning. Later in the day he motored to Harapepe. He will remain in the Waikato district for a few days. Sub-Inspector Mulaney, of Christchurch, has been promoted inspector' and transferred to Whangarei. SuhInspector Dew, of Gisborne, is being transferred to Christchurch.
It is rumoured that Sir James Allen will go to London with Ministerial rank under the arrangement made by the last Imperial Conference. There is,, however, no definite information on this point. Mr Edward Reginald Chudleigh, of Oronomairoa Estate, near Te Aroha, died on Saturday morning, aged 78 years. Mr Chudleigh came from Canterbury, where he bad extensive land interests. He was also interested in property on Chatham Island. He. leaves a widow but no family.
