MESOPOTAMIA TROUBLE
ARABS LEAVE DE!R EL ZOR. A HOSTILE RECEPTION. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received January 2, 5.5 p.m. LONDON, Dec. 31. An official report states that the Arabs who seized Deir El Zor are now dispersing owing to want of food and organisation. Some of the tribes show determined hostility to the invaders. Albukcmal was occupied on December 21, but all is now quiet. The British personnel captured at Deir El Zor by the Arabs have been released, and have joined the British force.
