OFFICER EMIGRANTS
FARM TRAINING SCHEME. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) (Received Jan. 2, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, January 1. A meeting of ex-service officers at the Colonial Institute resolved to draw up a scheme to secure suitable land in Australia for the purpose of training officers for agricultural pursuits. It is understood'that grants will be obtained from certain national fund’s for the purpose. Mr J. Connolly (Agent-General for Westralia) has brought under notice the suitableness of West Australia for the initial experiments. He promises to consult his Government relative to obtaining an area of improved land to establish a training farm for men who are likely to avail themselves of training, who possess small capital and are able to take up land when the necessary Instruction is completed.
