The King gave a banquet to the Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace, and congratulated him on forging a new link between Canada and the Mother Country.
His Majesty expressed great, appreciation of the cordial, even affectionate welcome the Prince had received from the Government and people at Washington, and New York. It had always been his earnest wish that the relation of the two great English-speaking nations should be of the closest, and most friendly nature, and that they should work together for the good of civijisation and mankind. He trusted that the Prince's visit would assist to that end.
The Prince, in replying, said that his tour had only intensified his desire to see more of the Empire. He looked forward keenly to visiting Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and India in. the early future.
