The following barometer and thermometer readings, taken at 9 a.m. daily, and weather indications, are kindly supplied by Mr James Bremner: Thermometer. , ■ Max. Min. Tuesday 65 53 Wednesday 57 52 Barometer. Wednesday 30.0 Thursday 29.85 Yesterday was fair and partly cloudy, with high southerly winds. The barometer has shown a rising tendency during the past 48 hours, but will probably fall soon. Indications are for fair and partly cloudy weather to-day, probably overcast to-morrow, with variable winds and higher temperature. The Weather Bureau wires: The indications are for southerly winds, strong to gale, with a westerly tendency. The weather will probably prove squally and changeable. The barometer has a rising tendency.
