ASSISTED PASSAGES

FOR SOLDIERS’ WIVES.

It is announced that in future bona fide fiancees of New Zealand soldiers will be granted ass sted passages from the United Kingdom to New Zealand under the following conditions— The. New Zealand Government to contribute £26 towards the cost of all classes of passages, both parties to certify that the lady for whom application is made for an assisted passage is the bona fide fiancee of the soldier making the application; the lady’s certificate will be lodged with the Emigration Department to whom all applications will be addressed.

The Government accepts no responsibility for the cost of transportation of a fiancee from the port of disembarkation to her home port. The port of disembarkation is determined by the New Zealand Government. No application will be considered unless presented on or before December 31, 1910. In the case of a soldier located in the United Kingdom at the time of the application or of a soldier discharged in New Zealand who returns to the United Kingdom and desires to obtain an assisted passage to New Zealand for his fiancee, the application will he made to the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London. .The marriage should take place before the parties leave the United Kingdom, failing which no Government contribution will be payable until proof of marriage is received after the arrival of the parties in New Zealand.
