WHITIORA SCHOOL
BUILDING NOT LARGE ENOUGH
BEFORE BEING OCCUPIED
THREE ADDITIONAL ROOMS.
The new school at Whitiora, as origi-nally-provided for, is now completed, and' is a handsome building, with modern appointments, and surrounded ;by spacious grounds which should eventually give it a splendid setting. It was ' intended that the school ■should be opened on October Ist. Unfortunately, it was found that the 'building was quite inadequate for requirements, the children offeping being in excess of the accommodation to be .•provided. . , That being so, it is gratifying to find that an endeavour is to be made to provide increased accommodation, as will be seen by the following communication received,by Mr C. Wycherley, secretary to the Hamilton West School Committee, from Mr E. C. Purdie. secretary to the Auckland Education .Board; — ~ , “I am directed to inform you that, having considered the report of the .'Advisory Inspector on the question of school accommodation in the Hamilton district, the Board has resolved toapplv to the Department for a grant for ■the erection of three additional rooms at the Whitiora School.”
