DEMONSTRATIONS IN AMERICA. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received May 2, 9.30 p.m. i NEW YORK, May 1. Soldiers and sailors stormed a May Day Labour demonstration in Madison Square. Police reserves dispersed the crowd, who left three dead. At Cleveland I.W.W. riots were started when soldiers seized a red Hag carried in a procession. .. CONFLICTS IN PARIS. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received May 2, 11.30 p.m. PARIS, May 1. Infantry and cavalry reinforced the gendarmerie to prevent May Day demonstrators marching to the Place de la Concorde. Firemen turned the firehose on the crowd, who twice broke the military cordons, many heads being broken in baton charges. Another riotous crowd gathered at the Place dc Longera, and shouted •'Down with the Government." The outlook was uglier at nightfall. LATER. DEMONSTRATIONS RENEWED AT NIGHT. (Australian nna N.Z. The demonstrators attempted to barricade the streets, but the mounted troops charged the mob, a great number being wounded, including Deputy Cachin, editor of L'Humanite. BLOODSHED. IN AMERICA. " The New York World's Boston correspondent states that three policemen were shot and a number of persons injured in May Day riots between soldiers, sailors and Radicals. PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN DUBLIN. The Dublin workers declared Thursday a public holiday, and the newspapers, trams, trains, and public services were suspended.
