INFLUENZA EPIDEMIC
QUEENSLAND INFECTED,; THEATRES, ETC., CLOSED. (United Press Association.) Received May 3, 11.45 a.m. BRISBANE, May 3. The Government lias announced that as the State is infected witli influenza, all hotels and picture shows will be closed from to-day. INFLUENZA IN DOMINION. RECKCDESCENCE INDICATED. (By Telegraph. —Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Saturday. The chief authorities think there is every indication that in the future we will see a recrudescence of the influenza epidemic. During the vast ten days there have been 23 notifications in the Canterbury and Westland health district. Several cables have been received from passengers on board the Niagara, concerning which there has been rumours of a fresh outbreak of influenza, stating. "All well; dean ship." Ten more cases of influenza have developed amongst the ■ crew of the Manuka en Somes Island', and there are two oi;her suspects.
