WAIKATO WINTER SHOW

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the committee of the Waikato Winter Show Association took place at Hamilton this morning. The president, Mr \V. MoKee, presided/and there were also present Messrs Tidd, W. G. Clark, Rothwell (2), T. Mitchell, Hinton, J. Primrose, D. L. Smith. A deputation representing the New u_ Returned Soldiers' Club Committee, consisting of Messrs A. E. Manning and Shand, waited upon the committee, and asked for their assistance in the way of free space, and any other practical help which they could offer. —The president assured the deputation that they were entirely sympathetic, and would do all in their power to assist the soldiers. —The matter of free space was left to the secretary to arrange. , Complete arrangements were made for the forthcoming show, the matter of decorations being left in the hands of Mr Rothwell, the same amount as last year to be expended. Mr Clark thought something hould ' be done to floor the lecture room, as at present the room was very cold and uncomfortable. —It was resolved that the secretary obtain an estimate of the cost of the work. The matter of arranging for the tea rooms was left to a committee consist.'ng of the president, two vice-pre-sidents and secretary. The secretary was instructed to decide as to the number of schoolboy guests to be entertained. The official opening will take place on the King's Birthday( June 3).
