WELLINGTON MAYORALTY
FOUR CANDIDATES IN THE PIELB LABOUR'S CHANCES IMPROVED. (Special to Times.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. "With a fourth candidate in the field, the chances of the La!>our nominee playing a prominent part in the contost lor the Mayoralty arc?, still further improved. Mr'Barher will not poll a great number of votes, but he does peril will be drawn from Mr Luke and Mr "Weston, and not from Mr Bead. Mr Bead's strong card, however, is the superior organisation of the Labour Party. To-day the supporters of Mr Luke and Mr "Weston are rushing all over the city in a last effort to get names on the roll. All Mr Bead's friends were registered a month ago. If every qualified person could be got to the poll, orthodoxy would beat by three or four to one; but without any inspiring leadership and without any effective organisation, even a bigger majority on paper might be casilv defeated by an enthusiastic and welldisciplined minority.
