PROPOSED WHITIORA BRIDGE.

(To the Editor.) Sir,—lt is noticeable that the Citizens’ Association in their programme make no reference to the question of another traffic bridge at the northern end of the town. The bridge accommodation of Hamilton is admittedly petty, and must seriously keep back development and advancement. It would be difficult to suggest any undertaking that Would satisfy a greater want or contribute more to rapid progress. Some schemes are mentioned that the town will hardly be equal to short of five years, although the erection of another traffic bridge would greatly hasten on our ability to carry them. It is to be hoped that the committee appointed recently by the Chamber of Commerce to go into' the bridge question will justify their appointment, and that at the forthcoming election men will be returned to the Council with enough public spirit and go to see the thing through. Ways and means and power will follow if it is engineered properlv.—l am, etc., PROGRESS. [At their meeting on Monday night the Citizens’ Association decided lo add the extra bridge to their platform.— Editor Waikato Times.]
