N.Z. FARMERS’ UNION

THAMES VALLEY EXECUTIVE. The executive meeting of the Thames Valley Sub-provincial Union was held on Thursday. The organiser in his report stated that since the last meeting ho had been employed upon general organising work and had attended many monthly meetings of branches. The selling of shares in the Farmers’ Fertiliser Company and the threatened action of Southern shareholders was referred to and information was asked for. The organiser explained that when the shares were being placed , on the market the canvasser told Southern farmers that they would he sold the manure at the same price as the Auckland farmers. It mean that the Auckland farmers were penalised for the Southern farmers.
