The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report:— TIRAU SALE. At Tirau on Wednesday, 2Gth March, we held our monthly stock sale,, and yarded 1000 cattle, 3000 sheep, and 23 pigs. Beef sold at ruling prices, but store and young cattle showed no improvement. A large yarding of sheep was keenly competed for, and practically all changed hands. We quote: Fat steers, £l2 10s to £l3 2s Gd; fat cows, £lO 5s to £ll 10s; lighter, £8 15s to £9 15s; store cows, £4 5s to £7 15s; two and a-half to three-year-old steers, forward condition, £lO 3s to £ll 8s; poorer quality, £6 2s to £8 12s; 18-months to two-year-old, £4 to £6 7s Gd. One and a-half to two-year-old heifers, in calf, £6 to £8 6s; empty, £4 to £5 11s; calves, good, £2 12s Gd to £3 3s; ordinary, 20s to £2; heavy hulls, £ll 5s to £l4 ss; lighter, up to £9 15s. Sheen: Ewes, two-tooth, 16s 9d to 21s Gd; four-tooth ewes, 21s Gd to 24s sd; full-mouthed ewes, 8s lOd to 10s; four-tooth wethers, 24s 5d to 265; woolly lambs, 12s 9d to 14s; shorn, 8s 3d to 9s Gd. Pigs: Weaners, 12s; porkers, £2 2s Gd. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report:— PEILDING SALE. At Feilding on the 28th inst., we had a good yarding of both sheep and cattle. There was little demand for ewes, but good lambs sold well. Competition for grown bullocks was poor. Other classes sold well at late rates. We quote: Sheep.—Fat ewes, 21s 3d to 225; four and five-year ewes, 19s to 225; store ewe?, 12s Gd to 17s 4d; goodlambs, 13s lOd to 17s 4d; medium lambs, 9s to 11s; cull lambs, 5s to 6s 3d. Cattle. —Fat cows, £8 15s to £lO 10s; forward cows, £6 10s to £8; store cows, £1 2s Gd to £5; heifers, run with bull, 20 months, £4 12s Gd to £7 11s; Hereford heifers, two years, run with bull, to £l2 10s; two and a-half-year steers, £9 3s to £9 10s; four-year bullocks, to £l3 ss; 18-monlhs steers, £5 to £6 8s Gd; 18-months red polled steers, to £8; weaners, 18s to £2.
