SOLDIERS CLUB SCHEME

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the committee whiclr A has the organisation for the Soldiers’ Club scheme in hand was held, last evening, and attended by Messrs A. E. Manning (chairman), J. R. Fow, J. Varney, F. T. Wilson, A. H. Hyde, H. Valder, W. Gann, E. Wilson, and J. T. Browne.

The following names were added to the executive committee : Messrs E. H. Hammond, Alex. Miller, R. J.: S. G. Parr, J. Fraser Smith, G. Boyes, Jno. McKinnon. »

It was resolved to appoint an organiser at a remuneration’ of £6 per week, and to offer the position to a returned soldier.

The question of organisation was fully gone into, and a scheme was placed before the meeting which was adopted in its entirety. It was agreed to launch the campaign after Easter, and to conclude it during Winter Show week.
