1 SENTENCE OF DEATH. ADELAIDE, March 28. Budd, found guilty of the murder of Jacques, has been sentenced to death. On November 22nd last, a motordriver, Harold Jacques, was engaged to drive a man named, Budd to Crystal Brook. Jacques’s body, with the head battered to a pulp, was found buried beneath his own car on the premises at Port Pirie, where Budd lodged. Budd’s landlady stated that Budd dug a hole, stafng that he intended cleaning the undergear of the motor-car. Subsequently he filled the car, and brought it home, a shed being erected over it. Budd was arrested on a charge of murdering Jacques. He stated that he bought the car for £3OO.
