TRADE RESTRICTIONS. A NECESSARY PROTECTION. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.> Received March 28, 11.20 pm. LONDON, March 28. In the House of Commons, Sir Auckland Geddes, Minister of Reconstruction, emphasised the view that if the general restrictions were removed we would be Hooded with goods not required for national life. He hoped that the blockade would be removed quickly. It would be removed when the beaten enemy admitted defeat in writing.
