Liquor Traffic issuing Public Warning purporting to be Proclamation from Dr. Valentine. In reply to a telegram from the NATIONAL EFFICIENCY LEAGUE of N.Z., Dr Valentine replied as follows: “Many thanks for forwarding Proclamation., which only came under my notice this morning.” In reply, I have to inform you that neither in my official nor private capacity halve 1 authorised my name being attached to any circular dealing with the liquor question, nor has any officer of this department. You have my authority to use this telegram in any way you may desire.” VALENTINE, Chief Health Officer.
