A French communique reports that on the right bank of the Oise the? e is a violent enemy artillery reaction. Between the oise and the Serre, ou.' pressure during the past few days has obliged the enemy to begin a fresh withdrawal. We pursued the Herman rearguards and occupied Angilcourt. West of C.rand Pre extremely bitter fighting continues, and it extended tnis morning as far as the height of Vouziers. An American communique reports that westward of the Meuse our advance continued. We took Bantheville, and entered ttie northern edge of Bois de Loges and captured Talma farm, westward of Grand Pre, after severe fighting. Eastward of the Meuse we repulsed fresh attempts to drive us out from our new positions at Bois Grande Montague. AMERICANS CROSS THE AISNE AND CAPTURE FORTIFIED FARMS. (Australian and New Zealand and Reuter.) Reecived October 20, 5.5 p.m. LONDON, October 19. An American communique states that we crossed ttie Aisne on a front of three miles on both sides of Vouziers, and obtained a lodgment in the bills east of the village of Vandy. We captured several fortified farms, taking several hundred prisoners. Farther east we advanced in the wooded region between Olizy and Grand Pre.
