AUCKLAND-WELLINGTON MATCH. WELLINGTON PLAYERS SUSPENDED. "By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINIITON, Wednesday. The Wellington Rugby Union last night commenced an inquiry, ordered liy the New Zealand Rugby Union, in reference to the alleged playing of amended rules in the Auckland v. Wellington match on September 7. only four players appeared, .nl after taking evidence, it was resolved to suspend the following players till they appear—viz., Valentine, Christopherson, A. Thomas, Altken, Morris, Arthur Parker. Albert Parker, Eberliardt, Marks, and B. Thomas. The players not suspended were Porter. Nicholls, Til yard, and Troy, who at [ended, and Tancred, who is away from Wellington. Nicholls, the captain, stated that !>e was not a party lo any arrangement. lie had been approached respecting the proposal that there be no changing of free kicks, and replied that iie would leave the matter to the forwards. Troy said he was not aware of any agreement. Griffiths, a member of the Hugby Union, stated ih it in his hearing the two captains agreed to no charging of free kicks. Tilyard stated that Griffiths told the Wellington team prior lo the game that, the captains had agreed I hat free kicks should not hi' charged.
