SECOND EDITION THE WEATHER.
The following barometer and thermometer readings, taken at 9 a.m. daily, and weather indications, are kindly supplied by Mr James Bremnor:— Thermometer. Max. Min. Kiturdav (57 55 Monday G4 58 Barometer. Monday 29.80. Tuesday : 29.50 During yesterday heavy rain fell, with winds from north to north-cast. The barometer is low, liut will rise soon. The hygrometer shows an abnormal amount of moisture in the atmosphere. Indications are for stormy weather, covering a large area, accompanied by high winds from tho northwest and veering to south-west. Local conditions will probably l'o fair for six hours. Tlie Weather Bureau wires: The indications are for westerly winds, strong to gale andl>acking by west to south. The weather will probably prove very boisterous. Heavy lain is to be expected with rivers rising shortiy. j lie barometer has a falling tendency, but rising after about 1(> hours, a;id the weather will probably become colder.
