INTERNAL GERMANY
CHANCELLOR'S RESIGNATION IMMINENT. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received October 15, 9.15 a.m. NEW YORK, October 14. It is reported that the resignation of Prince Maximilian of Baden, as Imperial Chancellor, is imminent. KAISER'S ABDICATION PROBABLE. IN FAVOUR OF HIS GRANDSON. PUBLICLY DISCUSSED IN GERMANY. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received Otcober 15, 11.35 a.m. LONDON, October 14. The Daily Telegraph's Rotterdam correspondent learns from a well informed source that Prince Max's resignation is probable and that Dr. Solf or Herr Schiedemann will succeed him. This sensational development is due to the imminent abdication of the Kaiser in favour of his grandson. The Kaiser has been anxious to do this for two months, but the Empress dissuaded the Kaiser, who is subject to long fits of mental depression, broken by such outbursts as his Essen speech. His abdication is publicly discussed 'n Germany, where many believe the Entente Governments will refuse peace while Wilhelm is on the throne.
