AMERICAN FOREST FIRES
HUNDREDS OF DEATHS. THOUSANDS RENDERED HOMELESS. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received October li, 10.10 p.m. OTTAWA, October 13. Forest fires are raging in northern Wisconsin and Minnesota. Between 200 and r>oo deaths are reported, while thousands have been rendered homeless. OVER 100 BODIES RECOVERED. SEVERAL TOWNS WIPED OUT. (Australian and N.Z. Cabie Assn.) Received October 15, 10.20 a.m. NEW YORK, October 14. Two thousand refugees have arrived at Dulth, and more than 100 l>odies have been recovered. Several towns hav< been wiped out. Men, women and children died in the flames within a short distance of the special rescue trains, as the fire was swept forward in a strong wind. The loss of pro. perty will amount to millions of dollars. v
