"•""■SfIJH The baths. At. Friday' $ meeting of the Hamilton BoroWb Council, Cr. Tidd, chairman qf the Baths Committee, read the committee's report. The committee recommended that a dressing-room be erected for the full length of the back of the building. The matter of accommodation was very urgent. Also, that the fence and inside of the biiths be given a dressing of lime.—Agreed to. It was also suggested that the baths be lighted with electricity. At present they are very inadequately lit with eight scattered gas lamps, and it was thought that one good electric light in the centre would l>e l>etter and cheaper.—Referred to Electrical Engineer for report. In regard to the proposed water chute, the committee recommended that the Council provide the material, and ask the Swimming Club to erect the chute.—Agreed to."

CAMBRIDGE SWIMMING CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. There was a Targe attendance on Friday evening at the annual meeting of the Cambridge Swimming Club. His Worship the Mayor (Mr E. J. Wilkinson) occupied trie chair. A letter was received from the Hamilton Swimming (Hub suggesting the formation of a South Auckland Centre, with headquarters at Hamilton.—The meeting considered that it would be a progressive move. A report of the past year's work showed that the club had had a successful season. Mr Priestley stated that, in his opinion, it was the most successful season from every point of view that the club had had. No doubt a great deal of the success was due to the splendid way in which the townspeople had supported the clul>. The membership fees for the coming season were fixed at 2s 6d for adults and Is (id for school children season bath tickets to ho 5s and 3s 6s respectively. The election of officers resulted:— President, .Mr E. J. Wilkinson; vicepresidents, Dr. Edmonds and Messrs ('•ro. Calvert and T. Richards; captain, Mr W. Souter; vice-captain, Mr A. Wolfgram; secretary and treasurer, .Mr W. Wilkinson; committee, Messrs W. Gane. It. W. Magill, J. C. Kersey, E. C. Ekman. C. Hargreaves. X. J. Keelcy, A. Croxford and J. Moore.

The outgoing committee were thanked for their services, and a vote ol thanks to the chairman concluded the meeting. The opening day for the hatha is Saturday, November 2.
